Many people speed down this road and it is often used as a cut though. It is also a street that runners, walkers and bikers frequent. A sidewalk, even on one side, would make a huge difference.

Agreed!  Elm and Partridge Streets are highly trafficked and they desperately need sidewalks.  Both streets have blind turns that are incredibly dangerous for walkers, runners, bicyclists, and cars, alike.  When using these streets, pedestrians often are forced to jump into the overgrown poison

The area on summer street & Crocker Ave to Shawkemo needs sidewalks. 
This area does not qualify for free busing and it’s extremely dangerous for walkers of all ages.

The Beaver St & Daniel McCahill St intersection should be widened to allow for a left turn only lane and addition of left turn light would help with the back up when there is heavy traffic.

It’s a narrow road so I’m not sure how it’s accomplished but Elm/Partridge is the only arterial connecting heavily populated neighborhoods and could use sidewalks to improve safety for cyclists/pedestrians.

A study was done on this intersection in 2015 and lane designation recommendations were made but never implemented. At the very least, video detection should be added. This is one of the only signals in town that has no detection and as a result, it operates extremely inefficiently.

I lived on Beech st for 11 years. I moved mostly for that reason. I couldn’t count the number of accidents that happened at the 4 way stop sign. Now I live on a dead end. Little late my children are adults but I never would recommend that street for family’s with young children

Going onto Green is horrible the guard rail is hit 100’s of times they are replacing it over and over. Just went up a couple weeks ago now down again. Surprised no-one hasn’t gone into the Brook, I think it’s trucks that hit it. (+2)

Mount Pleasant road has a 50km speed limit which makes it a dangerous place to cross for pedestrians wanting to walk the trails in the ravine. They cross anyway, jaywalking, because there is no other option. A pedestrian bridge could be of use here.

There are essentially no habitat values for this open space. Some wildflowers, but no wetlands and its so isolated and bare that nothing will make a home there. High density residential would be an excellent use for this space.

These ponds have had Harmful Algal Blooms in recent years. Reducing the amount of sunlight hitting the water surface would reduce the incidence of HABs. Therefore, planting more trees near the water, especially the southern bank, would be helpful.

I walked Hume Street from Saint Paul to Peel. 7 bikes rode past, both directions, both sides of the road. All of them Young Adults, all on the sidewalk. There was steady car traffic.  It indicates to me they must not feel safe in the bike lane.

The A1124 between Halstead and Earls Colne is a fast road, with two large hills and a blind corner at the south-west corner of Earls Colne Millenium Green. A bicycle lane would make this a much safer route which would therefore encourage cycling between the two places.

That's a great suggestion Jim. We do bike the "wrong way" on this stretch often due to the convenience and low traffic volume. I have little kids so we often try to avoid the bigger hills and this stretch does allow for a pretty flat ride.

This seems like an odd place to have a all-way stop sign. There is almost no traffic coming from Ft. Douglas Circle so it seems inefficient to have Federal Heights Dr. traffic stop. A stop sign for Ft. Douglas traffic seems sufficient.

The volume of pedestrians crossing at this intersection is only going to increase with the proposed building of two condo towers north of this intersection. Already the crosswalk is too small and people are forced to walk close to cars travelling west on st Clair as they cross.

Not only does it feel lifeless, but I've always felt anxious and annoyed whenever I have to cross under it. There's a lot of vehicle traffic and many long lights to wait for. The Queens Quay area doesn't feel very easy to access.

I agree that the city should do more about our homelessness problem. I see many homeless people when I'm downtown. They should increase funding for building more shelters, making shelters safer, and improving mental health programs.

The rail path is a really handy and safe way for cyclists to get around. I'm not sure if it's possible but it would be great if it could be extended even further into the city.

This area is right next to a subway station but it's full of single family dwellings. People want to live downtown but there aren't enough places to live. Rather than knock down a heritage theatre or unique shop, let's have a few less single family dwellings.

There's a bike lane but it isn't always usable due to snow build up, so you're forced onto the street. The street car tracks are a known danger, but alongside the concrete there are big cracks. I love this thing, it's the best way to get around town by bike. For the most part you're well away from cars, and where you're close to them you're at least protected by a curb which is more than you can say for most of the bike lanes in Toronto.

High Park can easily be accessed by subway or streetcar. It's a great place to walk or ride your bike but it's made more dangerous by having to share the lane with cars. Recently a cyclist was killed by a car driver here.

Alot of people prefer to live in the suburbs. They like having their own backyard and it's alot safer for children due to less traffic.

Build new urban neighborhoods, sure, but don't get rid of the suburbs.

Austin is contains and is surrounded by huge amounts of sprawl. The damaging effects will be difficult to remove as it densities and tries to fix itself.

I think it was a squandered opportunity to build a nice neighborhood for humans. Instead we got giant towers, with exclusively huge commercial space, low amounts of office space, and cut apart by large roads.

Once a city grows past a certain point, an at least somewhat unique element in the skyline helps differentiate it from others.

Farmer's Markets are just great. You get to get local produce, eat delicious and authentic food and have fun. Having one nearby is the best!

I would be wary about letting Google have a such a strong influence on the future of our neighborhoods. The benefits of 'Smart Cities' are not that big, whereas the potential drawbacks are horrible. I would tread with care, especially when it comes to privacy.

I am big fan of occasional irregularity in a grid system. It seems they are very rare in new developments. It's these kind of small touches that make a place more interesting; as apposed to the cookie-cutter neighborhoods of today.

I agree, it's a little depressing whenever I have to walk through this area to Sobeys or Walmart. A good start would be force future building developments to look more like Update (closer to the street), parking lot in the back instead of front.

Not anything big; but this gazebo definitely is a nice callback to the areas German roots. I like walking by it as it plays the chimes even though it's a little creepy at night! Definitely check it out if you're nearby!

I think it is way too early to start thinking about this. Not everyone lives in Uptown and alot of people drive to meet their friends and family. There needs to be enough parking or people will stop coming to there. Waterloo region is still mainly a car-oriented place.

Belmont Village is a unique collection of shops, restaurants and businesses which provide many services and products.

It is no 'real-downtown' but it has a unique and interesting charm.

The mall exterior looks very aged and contributes to a 'down' theme on the block. I think pushing for improving the finish or a more complete redevelopment could help re-vitalize the area.

After Uptown ends, there is a steep drop off of walk-ability. I understand that Uptown's improvements are recent, however contrast is very stark.

At some points the lake is a mere 15cm in depth. I see geese and ducks wade through the water (not swim!). I know there are some efforts planned to clean up the water; I hope that the depth is also addressed:
